MetalTech 2026 is wrapped. The booth is packed, the team is home, and the conversations are still fresh. Here's a look at what happened at MITEC Kuala Lumpur — and a genuine thank you to everyone who came by.

Southeast Asia's manufacturing sector has a particular quality to it. There's a forward momentum you feel the moment you step onto the show floor. The engineers and procurement leads we met weren't browsing. They were asking specific questions, comparing processes, and thinking seriously about their next equipment decisions. That made every conversation at the booth worth having.

For Celli, MetalTech was an opportunity to meet manufacturers across the region face to face — to show what precision PVD coating equipment looks and performs like in practice, and to demonstrate how our approach differs from what most suppliers offer.

Five Industries, One Booth: The PVD Coating Samples

One of the most deliberate choices we made for MetalTech 2026 was bringing physical PVD coating samples. Not brochures. Not renderings. Actual coated components that visitors could hold, examine, and compare directly.

The samples covered five application areas:

  • Tools and cutting tools — coatings for hardness, wear resistance, and extended tool life

  • Automotive components — functional and decorative finishes for demanding production environments

  • Consumer electronics — thin, precise coatings for hardware aesthetics and surface durability

  • Sanitary ware — decorative PVD finishes for kitchen and bathroom hardware

  • Hydrogen energy — conductive coatings for bipolar plates used in fuel cell applications

Visitors stopped. They picked up the samples, turned them over, and asked about film thickness, adhesion, and process parameters. That kind of engagement is difficult to replicate in any digital format.

Two areas generated the most sustained conversation: tools and cutting tools, and automotive components. Engineers in both verticals came with immediate, specific questions — coating performance under load, substrate compatibility, production throughput. Those discussions confirmed what we already know: functional coating demand across Southeast Asia's manufacturing base is growing, and manufacturers are looking for suppliers who can speak to process outcomes, not just equipment specifications.

We used spatial computing to let visitors step inside a Celli Tech PVD coating system — not a video walkthrough, but a fully immersive environment where you could observe the machine architecture, process chamber layout, and component relationships in three dimensions.

The response was genuine curiosity. Engineers who had worked with PVD equipment for years found themselves examining familiar systems from angles they had never had access to before. Procurement leads earlier in their evaluation process came away with a much clearer picture of what they were actually specifying.

It was a strong reminder that how you communicate complex equipment matters as much as the equipment itself.

Thank You

To every manufacturer, engineer, and procurement professional who stopped by Booth 7211 — thank you. The quality of conversation at MetalTech 2026 reflected the seriousness of this market, and we valued every question, every comparison, and every moment of genuine engagement.

To the Celli Tech team: the preparation, the long days, and the commitment to representing the brand well did not go unnoticed. This was a team effort in every sense.

What Comes Next

If you attended MetalTech 2026 and want to continue a conversation we started at the show, we're ready to pick up where we left off. If you weren't able to make it and want to see what we brought, that conversation is just as open.
